As an Automotive Electronics Hardware Development Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading the hardware design and development for next-generation automotive electronic domain controllers and central computing units. You will ensure that all designs comply with ASEAN automotive technical standards and are optimized for tropical climate conditions. Your responsibilities will span across the entire product lifecycle, from R&D and design verification to testing and after-sales support. Lead Hardware Design: Drive the development of hardware for automotive electronic domain controllers and central computing units, ensuring compliance with ASEAN automotive technical standards.
Develop Product Specifications: Create and implement hardware product specifications and design guidelines tailored for tropical climate conditions.
Oversee R&D Processes: Manage the entire R&D process, including component selection, design verification, computational analysis, and preparation of technical documentation in both English and Chinese.
Formulate Testing Strategies: Develop comprehensive hardware testing strategies, create customized test equipment/programs, and produce detailed test reports that meet ISO 26262 requirements.
Implement Problem-Solving Processes: Utilize structured problem-solving methodologies (8D/5Why) to support production and coordinate after-sales services.
Conduct Advanced Analysis: Perform hardware architecture analysis, including DFMEA, functional safety analysis (ISO 21434), and worst-case scenario simulations.
3+ years of relevant experience in automotive electronics hardware development, with a focus on domain controllers and central computing units.
Proven track record in leading hardware design projects from concept to production.
Experience in developing hardware specifications and design guidelines tailored for specific environmental conditions.
Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation, Telecommunications, or related fields from accredited institutions.
Proficiency in automotive ECAD tools (Altium/Mentor) and simulation software (MATLAB/PSpice).
Certification in automotive functional safety (ISO 26262) and practical experience in FTA/FMEDA processes.
Deep understanding of ADAS sensor technologies (LiDAR/Radar/Camera) and the ASEAN automotive supply chain ecosystem.
Familiarity with ISO 26262 and ISO 21434 standards for functional safety and cybersecurity.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multicultural teams with strong accountability and stress resilience.
Excellent communication skills, with business-level English proficiency (IELTS 6.5+ equivalent). Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is an added advantage.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
